Alternate Title: "Put a bandaid on and walk it off."
Did this out of boredom. I'm at drill this weekend so I'm more military-inspired than usual. I'm a 68W (Combat Medic) in the guard, but I haven't gone to basic and AIT yet so I guess I'm not OFFICIALLY a Medic, considering there's a high dropout rate at AIT for that MOS. Nevertheless I'm determined to stick through it and suck it up if it gets bad, because there are no infantry units in Wyoming and I don't want to be stuck as a truck driver.
So anyways - this gave me an idea. I should start doing portraits of some of the guys in my unit, especially the guys I want to deploy with next spring to Afghanistan. It'd be pretty neat to get a small collection of them up here of a before, during, and after.
Before we deploy: Happy
During our deploy: Bored as hell
After deploy: Grumpy
Haha, I laugh now...
The reason for the old-style helmets is because I've been refitting a mess of the older kevlar with new pads and harnesses for a Cadet Battalion. I've been working on these things all week and I'm still not done...
